Located just 2.5 miles south of Whitby, Swallow Holiday Cottages is a personally run business set in a breathtaking rural setting. The complex provides more diverse amenities than any other adjacent to or in Whitby. An ideal location for you and your dog to explore the stunning North Yorkshire Coastline and North Yorkshire National Parks.

Rigg View is one of the set of the four mews self catering cottages located in the quiet village of Stainsacre situated just 1.5miles from the Whitby. The Cottages are set in their own courtyard and enjoy panoramic views of open countyside. Dogs stay 2 here and they will love it.

Inside

Inside, Rigg View is warm and cosy.  It has a very comfortable lounge and fitted kitchen with dining room off, a double bedroom with ensuite facilities, a twin bedroom and a downstairs bathroom.  There is parking for one car. One dog stays free, though there is a small charge of £20.00 for the 2nd/3rd dog you may bring. The owner requests that dogs must not be left alone in the cottage. No smoking policy also applies.

Steam Train Journey

The cottages are ideally located for you to take off and visit the many attraction in the area. Take a ride along the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train from Whitby to Goathland (Heartbeat Country) where you can soak up the atmosphere of this popular village.     Bishop Of Whitby Has Heart Attack

    The Bishop Of Whitby is recovering in hopsital in Italy after suffering a heart attack while on holiday. The Right Reverend Martin Warner took ill in Florence on Monday 23rd August. It is understood he was alone and suffered a cardiac arrest. The Bishop is being "very well looked after" according to a spokesman and is out of intensive care. The news is a shock as the Bishop is a very fit man who does a lot of cycling. Prayers are being said by congregations across the Whitby area and diocese, the Whitby Gazette reported.

    Whitby Wave Dodgers Safety Warning

    Teenagers seen wave dodging near Whitby Pier this week have been given a stark warning after a teenager tragically lost his life near there last week in a rip tide. Horrified onlookers watched as teenagers played a game of wave dodging on Whitby's West Pier slipway as high winds battered the East Coast. A Whitby coastguard spokesman said "we need people to use common sense and would particularly ask parents to keep their children back from the water's edge when conditions are bad."
